Maintance?

hello

Hello guys i am selling my 2004 yamaha blaster and my old 1989 yamaha yz 80 and i am looking to buy a 450. It is either goin to be a 450r or a yfz. I have always wanted a R since they came out but i recently heard that they need alot of maintance is that true?

All Quads need maintenance Man. I have an '04 and I do all the Routine stuff like

Change the oil/oil filter
Clean the air filter
Keep the Chain Oiled
Keep it Clean in general

I really dont think that they need...excessive maintenance, just the routine stuff, but thats the small price you gotta pay to ride!

The link you posted does not work so i'm goin out on a limb here, as far as maint goes frequent oil changes are about it but depends on year, the only other thing is valve adjusts thats about it no more maint than any other bike, I have an 06 and i do oil changes after every race which usually consists of 45min race time and about 30min practice time but 06-07 are harder on oil as they have no oil cooler, good luck with your purchase.

Any 450 needs it's maintenance.. Keep up on your oil changes, keep your filter and the whole quad clean and you won't have a problem for a long time :)
