This winter I rebuilt the motor on my 01 400ex. New valves, 11:1 weisco piston, stock bore, Stage 1 hot cam, high rev cdi, It already had a full DG exhaust, and my K&N is completely clogged and worn out so I think I am goin to get a uni filter. Any suggestion as to what my carb should be jetted at? I took it upstate this weekend (PA) and all it would do is just break up. I took off the air filter and started and reved it and it seemed to run fine then, so I believe I need a new filter and to rejet the carb. Thanks

I live in central PA and this winter I rebuilt my 04 400ex. I put an 11:1 stock bore piston, stage 2 hot cam, K&n, no lid, extreme port and polish job and I started with a 160 K with the stock carb. It was lean but it ran good. Hope this helps you.

The K&N was really dirty when I bought it in the fall. I did clean it before running the rebuilt motor but I think it is past getting clean. I am going to get a uni filter before I start messing with the jetting. I don't remeber what main jet is in it. I have to wait until I get a new filter before I do anything, I just wanted to get some close idea about what the jetting should be. Thank you.
