hey my mate keeps telling me that his 400ex is faster then my 400ex, ill list the mods and use can decide.

my list of mods (440ex)
89mm 11:1 pistion
hotcam stage 2
port and polish intake exhaust
450r carb
uni filter
full lrd exhaust

He obviously can't count. 440 is bigger than 400 in any country. Just got my motor put back together. Cant wait to get my 450 carb jetted right. I hope it makes a noticeable difference.

It's all in his handlebars. Once I get my carb right i would like to line up against a 440ex. My brother in law's 450r w/ no airbox lid, piped and jetted isnt to much faster than mine.

I have seen a 416 pull a 700 rappy on dirt drag.
(if they would have traded rides the same rider would have won)

Yeah line em up. There's no way a 416 pulled a 700 raptor on any surface unless the raptor was broke down. I ride a 416. One of my best friends rides a 700 w/ a GYTR pipe on it. 1st gear was close. Every other gear he would get farther away.

I would have to disagree, a buddy of mine runs a 416EX and dominates the typical 700 Raptors in the area-alot has to do with rider and setup.

it was 100% rider, and the 416 did smoke the raptor.

like I said, if they where to trade quads for a race the same guy would have won no matter which atv he was piloting.

the raptor had maybe 20 hrs on it and was bone arse stock.
the 416 was well built but towards flat track.

im saying run the dang things for real (no winners in bench racing)

im also saying that it is possible for the 400 to get your 440 if your skills are lacking.

I have a 440EX that makes 42 ponies on the dyno. It also keeps up with a stock 2006 TRX450R on any surface, trust me I've tried!
