I JUST RACED A RAPTOR 660 AND 700 STOCK TO STOCK AND A RAPOTR 66O ALL MODDED I BLEW BOTH STOCK ONE AWAY AND THE ALL MODDED 660 WAS ONLY ABOUT A QAUD AWAY NOT BAD FOR STOCK.. THIS IS DEFF A NICE BIKE

i raced two 700 and i beate them by 4 or 5 bikes

It must have been a short race, or the raptors were geared really low, because in a normal drag the raptors top end should kill whether you get the hole shot or not, the KFX is just geared to low.

I think what they are saying is the 700 rappy (stock)
is a faster quad in a straight line than the kfx450 (I agree)

VS.
bad rider on the 700r
the 450 can win

but with equal riders there is no way its 4-5 lengths ahead in any drag race (any distance)

i know that around here most drags on quads are 300ft, and i dont think a raptor will catch and out run a kfx

well ill put it this way i have a 05 honda 450r, i can beat a 660 craptur stock or modded, 700 i can beat on a dead stop run but rolling start i just cant get him, now on to the good stuff me and a new kawi 450 when toe to toe, i was about 150lbs heavier then the kid on the kawi, so off the start to about 3rd gear it was close after that i walked away with about 4 links on him, now u might say it was a fluke but the results were the same in 4 different runs except the 2 gear rolling start where i just walked away from him,

all in all that new kawi is going to be great compitition once alot of good go fast toys come out for them

it also depends on the rider, it sounds to me like your a pretty good rider. i know i raced my friend who has a 03 raptor with high comp piston, ct full pipe, and edelbrock carb and i beat him in a 300 ft. yes, if we raced another 100ft he probably would have ran me down, but i walked all over himethe first 150ft or so. i have an hmf slip on and efi controller and thats it. oh and he is a very experienced rider, he tought me how to ride

and another thing about the kawi being geared to low, in the last dirt wheels they did a top speed on all 4 450s and their was about 2 mph from fastest to slowest. the kfx came in 3rd at like 71.


now i have read alot of other threads saying how the kawi is geared to low, then how come at top end their is not that big of a difference. i know that you rip through the gears pretty fast but whe you still get up to 70 on a stock quad it dont sound to bad to me.

yea i can ride good but again im not the best, i have a hrc,rossier pipe, fuelcustoms intake, and 18" tires in the rear so i lost ALOT of top in i was on the rev limiter before the finish line(if i was to guess we went 1/4 mile or so)so we had some room to open up, but the weight advantage the guy had over me is just crazy, with how big i am its like im on a stock 450 with just a hrc cam, now if my buddy would have got on my quad then u cant compare the 2 because the power would be there

and mod440 why a hmf??? dasa is making a pipe for the kawi and from what i seen they make nice gains

i had an hmf on my 440ex and i really like it. to be honest i havent even heard of a dasa pipe until i got my kfx and started looking in the kfx450 forum section. my wife wasnt going to let me spend the money on a full system and get an efi controller so i just got a slipon. i have been very happy with the hmf i got.

I am testing all the pipes i can for the KFX ..... eleven of them as of now. The HMF did good, but so far it is not the best. The Dasa pipes should make great HP.

Dasa does not offer a slip on only a FULL system. I would pass on a slip on and same the extra cash to get a full system.

well i have a built 450r an i can smoke a kfx in a 1/8 an a stock 700r with a good rider will smoke me in the 1/8 an i have raced alot of built r's an yfz an never been beat except by a stock 700r which makes me soo mad

naw..with the guy that owns the 700 on it i can beat him every time but then u put a good rider on there he will beat me then u put the same rider on mine an me on the 700 an i will beat my own 4wheeler its just crazy an pisses me off

and timed me on a stock 700r @300' drag

I would make a better time on the 450r

i really dont see the point in drag racing, any tard can go fast in a straight line..

no affence i just dont get these die hard drag racers or the people that flame on other bikes based on drag racing.

I have both bikes... that raptor is faster stock for stock.. gearing is low on the KFX.

I call BS on that number, ive rode stock KFX and it wasnt doin' anywhere close to 70 when it topped out...

Id give it 55...maybe 60 stock...there is no way it ran 71 mph.:ermm:

Dude I clocked mine with a radar gun at 70 mph stock topped out. I was dragging one a straight road with my friends 250 dirt bike which topped out at 78mph and my other friend's old school kawi 500 dirt bike which topped out at 85 mph. I have dragged raced with other quads and have beatin a lot of other topped brands, but the ones that I've lost are only in 5th gear and only by a quad lenght. Remember its all in the racer.

No I didn't buy mine to drag race but its fun to know what it can do and where it measures up to against other brands.

Besides here is El Paso its only dessert and the sand drags are very popular with atv'ers.
