alright i think its about time i get myself a hotcam stage 1. i would rather save money and do this myself, but i would like the thought of having a professional doing it. How much do builders usally charge for this mod? Does the carb need to be rejetted? and ive heard that his mod is really easy. Ive done my clutch and ive taking automotives at school. should i attemp this mod myself??

It is fairly easy get yourself a manual and you will be fine

i have a manual and everything. I was looking through and i think iam going to take it to someone. Iam pretty sure that ill be able to do it but just for peace of mind i would like it done professionally. That way if something goes wrong then i wont need to pay for it.

How much do builders usally charge for this install???

I'd do it yourself. It would be a great opportunity to learn about the engine some, and when you need to do future maintenance, its no problem at all.

i've got a stage 1 in mine and i did all the work with the help of a Clymer manual. i did everything the manual said for removal and installation and mine runs fine.

also all i did for my jetting was i went up one size on the main jet after i installed the cam. i had a 155 Dynojet before the cam and went to a 160 after and it runs fine.

well exactly how easy is this? i would do it myself, how many hours does it take? doesn't it require pulling the top and bottom end apart? i suck at workin on motors haha i can do simple things, but when heads come off, i dont like messin around, but rather not pay 200 to get it in.

na all you have to do is pop the top off and everything is right there. you'll need a manual to read as you go along though it will explain every single detail that you will need to take the cam out and put it back in.

all together it probly took me about 4 hours or so but i took my sweet time doing it b/c it was my first time goin into that type of engine and i wanted to make sure i did everything right.

i would recommend getting a new head cover gasket as well.

also the manual give the torque specs for the bolts.
