Its kinda weird to compare these two, but which has better suspension for jumping and motocross, a 400ex or a banshee. i am thinkin of trading in the ex for a banshee, but i need more suspension than power. should i, a banshee is the only other quad i can afford, otherwise i'd get a 450
thanks

I think the Banshee rear shock is better than the 400EX.
The 400EX front shocks are better than Banshee fronts.

You can modify 450TRX shocks to fit the 400EX & get a better ride.

well stock suspension on the a banshee is the worst ever made so if you do buy a banshee make sure it has wider a-arms and good shocks and maybe get the rear shock revalved if it hasnt already

if you come across a GREAT mx banshee then buy it

BUT if you are very serious about MXing then i haveto say no unless you have alot of money and really good strength and really fit

Stock vs stock they both suck lol.

Overall I think the 400 is the better MXer.

Thanks for the help guys, i think i might trade up, even though the banshee suspension isnt any better than my 400ex, i think the banshee is a better platform in which to make better.

negatory man, the power delivery from a Banshee is not really what you want for MX racing unless you spend boat loads of money and build one like mine.
Stick with the 400EX until you can afford a new 450. Put some good suspension components on the 400EX and go racing. The 400EX may not have as much power but with some good suspension parts it will outhandle the Banshee so well that the power deficit won't matter.

yeah actually stick with the 400 because it well take a while getting used to the banshee and it takes alot better rider skill to stay in the power band without any surprises after a landing and mxing

i remember a few years ago(like 7or 8) in a dirtwheels mag, they did a comparioson of 400ex, banshee, polaris 400sport. they had them on a track and they all ( there pro riders) said that the banshee felt the fastest but when they showed the riders there times from each machine they all had 1+seconds better lap times on the 400ex, they said it was because they were putting more usable power to the track, the suspesion was praised on the ex compared to the banshee as well. these were stock machines right of the showroom floor.

stock for stock i would have to say the 400. but if u really kno how to ride a banshee and have a little extra money it can be a pretty decent MXer. just get a nice pair of yfz shocks for cheap and start from there. so if u have a little extra money i would say banshee but if not go with the 400
