I need help choosing a camera. I want a digital slr instead of our regular dig point & shoot. I was pretty set on a canon but after looking at some options I wanted to get some opinions on these cameras...

Sony 10.2 mp (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8115434&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat99300050011&id=1158318672837)

Nikon 10.2 mp (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7976041&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat99300050011&id=1153998862633)

Canon 10.1 mp (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7989901&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat99300050011&id=1155069748336)

Anyone have any experience with these cameras? Anythin jump out at you that I should stay away from or that I should be looking for. I will mostly be taking pictures of my son riding and playing soccer and my daughters cheerleading. Thanks for any help!!!

The only one of those I have tried was the Canon. I bought it online, sight unseen and returned a couple days later. It was too small and felt very awkward in my hands. I then went to a local shop and held a all the leading brands and ended up w/ the Pentax K10D - it has all the features I wanted, felt good and has more lenses available to it then probably any other brand since any lens ever made for any Pentax will fit it. I couldn't be happier w/ my purchase.

Adam, the Canon you posted a link to is the one I was using at Breezewood the other week.I am happy with it and have not had a problem out of it yet.The Nikon bodies are larger and some people prefer that over the Canon which is smaller. It is alot of personal preference. If it is possible, go to a camera store and hold them all then buy the one that fits you best. They are all good cameras.

Canon fan here!
I LOVE mine!
I actually had a tough time deciding which one to get (Nikon or Canon)
I would like to upgrade it I can afford it after the 1st of the year and use my XT for a back up camera..

Nikon baby:devil: (most of the canon and nikon digiatal slrs are very close, knowing how to use them to get the shot means more then what bells and whistles they have.)

Im sure the latest cameras are much better than my point and shoot was, but I am not a big fan of Sony after replacing my camera 3 times in 18 months :ermm:
Same for my Camcorders.
Of course sand and dust doesnt help any :p lol
