YOU MAY HAVE OVERFILLED YOUR OIL. LAST TIME I CHANGED MINE I OVER FILLED IT AND NEVER RAN IT LONG ENOUGH TO BACK FILL IN TO THE TANK. WHEN I WAS RIDING IT STARTED TO COME OUT THE TOP. NEXT OIL CHANGE I DOUBLE CHECKED IT AND IT WAS FINE. AS FAR AS THE GAS SMELL I DON'T KNOW, MY BUDDY'S DID THAT AND HE CHANGED THE OIL AND IT WENT AWAY, BUT HIS RINGS ARE STARTING TO GO. IT MAY BE THAT. IF YOU FIND OUT WHAT IT IS REPLY SO I KNOW. THANKS

What year? Has the recalled clutch cover been replaced. If not that could be it. It reacts with the antifreeze and eats through. It's ususly antifreeze that people find in there oil though.

gas in the oil can either be too rich jetting causing unburnt fuel to run past the rings...or worn piston rings.
