best gearing combo

i have a 14 tooth front sprocket, but my ex doesnt go any faster it seems to go slower should i get a diferent size rear sprocket or change my tire size or wat?

i run 14/36 and it works good. i use 18s but for speed go with 20s or 22s

i have 22 inch xct's and when they wear down im going to get 20 inch hd's, so i should get a 36 tooth rear sprocket
