Header Wrap

I just wrapped my head pipe to help with cooling. The wrap is smoking from the heat. Can someone tell me if this is normal and how long it will last?

Yeah, it's normal. I used it to keep from melting my pants. It will smoke the first few times you ride it and then it will stop. I used the black wrap and once it wore in and stopped smoking, it had turned silver. You have nothing to worry about. It doesn't smell the greatest at first either!

I actually got black flagged in a road race once because they thought by bike was spewing oil. It was my damn header wrap smoking. :mad:

As mentioned, it will stop after a while.
