with gas prices near 3.50-4.00 a gal. i have seriously been thinking of buying a bike. 12mpg just aint cuttin it drivin to work and school everyday, i have to work 2 hours just to pay for gas to get there and back. everytime i fill up i think harder and harder about buying a bike, 50-60 mpg sound great. i talked to the old man today he said he'd be ok with it but its my mom i gotta talk to about it. shes determined that if i got a bike i would be dead in a week, now i know obviously motorcycles are more dangerous than cars and we have all heard a story about someone getting killed in a motorcycle wreak, but wheres all the stories about the guys who wreak and got up and walked away? or have been ridding for years and have never been down? after calculating some numbers i figured it costs me $12.55 A DAY to drive my truck and a bike would be about $2.43 a day, quite a differance but i dont think thats enough to persuade my mom, any sugguestions on how to talk her into it? i dont even care if i get a rocket, i just want MPG not speed....... well maby a little speed

3.65 here, i just got it for 3.57 and that was the best i could find today. I heard it is going to get a lil above 4 dollars this summer..its just stupid. they really need to do something about this. My area is so desperate for anything right now...

I would love to get a lil scooter that does 45-50 mph, and cruise around like that

I'd love to buy a bike.... but don't you have to be at least 18 though?

I've rode dirt for years and after buying and cbr954 I found it very hard to obey the traffic laws. I guess I'm used to having no rules in the dirt. Don't get me wrong it is a blast just becareful and get used to it before riding in a group and watch out for other vechiles.:D

I here that. First bike I ever road was a Yamaha r1. I had a hard time obeying the speed limit. I put her in 4th and started cruzin..... looked down and I was doin 120mph.... I thought that bike was tooooo fasst. No need to ride that thing on the road with that much power.

600's are perfect. If you can obey the speed limit. I hard a bad urge to speed. Even in the car. My liscenes is long gone :o .

tell your mom unless she wants to fork out the cash for you to drive to work and school everyday that you're buying a bike

$375.00 a month vs. like $75 a month
$4500 a year vs $900 a year

$3600 difference. you can buy your bike for that much!
