the best bore??

what would be the best bore for a 400ex the 416, 426, or the 440,?? would i notice a different even with the 416 or not much of a change?

IMO, the 416 is the best if your going to only bore. The 426 and 440 would require a re-sleeve. Most of the HP gain is from increased compression, CC has less effect (IE: 416 vs. 426)

I agree with ZRpilot except for the statement about the 426 needing to re sleeve. You don't need to resleeve but after that you will. I would stick with the 416 kit:muscle:

You dont HAVE to resleeve for teh 426, but it is highly recommended because the sleeve becomes thin.

I agree though 416 is a good all around bore.

IMO the 'best bore' is the smallest one to get what you need.:)
