I would use an easy out kit to remove the screw.

i did the same thing....i was lucky enough to lightly tap the screw with the screwdiver and a hammer and was able to get it out. maybe get one of those stripped screw removers from sears....i hear they work perty good. good luck man:(

Yeah an easy out will work just fine. Dang, if theres one thing that will make me throw a screw driver into the wall its strippin a bolt!

okay listen. sometimes this works if you got a screw stripped.Same thing happened to me and i stripped the thing completey with a screw driver until now little thingys are showin(couldn't think of another word) in other words the whole head of the screw was smooth. Since those screws are really soft take a hammer and a flathead screwdriver and pound it.(make sure your screwdriver has some pretty sharp sides.) When u make some indentions carefully unscrew it. It worked for me.

get a small drill bit and drill a small hole in it then use an easy out and it should come right out
