Don't feel bad, I too use Honda oil in my LTR.
Tried many many brands and weights and it took honda oil to make the tranny stop whinnin.:D
I always use their 0w-40 works great

Heck ya go with their oil.
What a deal. 0-40w synthetic should work well.
They also have good grease and fuel addiives.
Amsoil has compiled several tests from outside sources (non-bias)that prove their products are near the best if not THE best.
The only thing is their products are sometimes difficult to get and their pricing is SALTY.
Good Luck at the races

i dnt no much about the ltr but if it has a wet clutch system the synthetic oil will burn your clutch up in about 45 min if it takes that long, i know this frum experiance, im not bad talkin amsoil im jus sayin wat i had go wrong, i had a brand new clutch after rebuilding my motor and it was warn out before my motor was brokin in

I've ran full synt. in
98 CBR600 22,000 street miles
99 CBR600 27.000 but 15,000 hard track miles
94 KLX650
02 XR600R
03 YZ450F
04 YZ450F
As well as my LTR, KFX and Z (I used to use full but started using non synt in them cause I change it so often) and I've NEVER HAD TO REPLACE A CLUTCH. My 03 YZ was close but I ened up trading it in. And the 99 CBR was putting down 100+ RWHP with out a issue
