View Full Version : New hood and custom mod

Got my GFs hood for her KFX400. Also Moved the Nutruel light, Reverse and temp light down into the plastic. Also had to but the hood a little. Didn't turn out too bad. Expecially for using a dremel tool.

thats pretty good. maybe you wont get so much of a glare in the sun for the lights. one time i was riding my kfx and i couldnt see see the water temp light was on and i was over heating.

Yup that is why I left a littl overlap. It it hard to see it during the day. Plus she broke herhandle bar plastic peice. this saved her about $40 for a new one.

i really need to do something like that to mine, i have moose bars on mine and i cant see the lights at all...damn bar pad covers em up.

Same bars I just put on hers. Took me 10 mins to do. then another 5 mins to cut the hood

Same bars i got too, well mine are the super low mx ones, but i got my plastic to fit in there i liek it alot...

Haven't really thought about it lol. I think I am just going to zip tie it down low somewhere

ook I was thinking about doing something similar to that to mine but wasnt sure where to put the key. i was considering putting it on the left fender sort of like the LTR but i wasnt sure how i could keep it in place.

I think I am just going to zip tie it on the frame out of site somewhere. Hidden lol

most likely the easiest way to do it but did you put your lights just in that piece above where your headlights were? howd you keep them in the hole too?

Yes I just drilled 3 holes. I forget what size bit I used. But I made it slightly smaller and jammed them in. There were a PITA but they arn't moving:o

I can't see photobucket pics. My works network is gay:grr: but I will take a look tommorow when I get home

i didnt get a pic...but what i did the other night...right after i posted. i went to the garage, removed the plastic key holder deal. drilled a hole on each side of the key hole, put my revers light in one of them, and my temp light on the other side. i dont really care about the neutral light all that much.
so basicaly i have
R light/key/Temp light.
