the wisdening kit is amazing..i know people say its unsafe and not as good as buying a-arms..but i love it.sure does beat spening a grand on a-arms.

i used an automotive spray paint out of a can to paint the frame with..and i made sure to sand it down really good. but so far its holding up aweosme

mak400ex
05-23-2007, 08:38 PM
i really like the widening kit..i dont really "race with it" but i do ride hard..and it does aweosme for me..im really pleased with it..whenever i get my 400 shocks on the front i plan on racing in a begginer class here local..

not sure how 250ex shocks compare to 300ex shocks, but if its much difference at all those 400's aint gonna work too good. to put 400 shocks on a 300 ex I made a custom lowering bracket that mounts the shocks about 4 inches higher than stock location and the quad still sits almost 2 inches taller than before.

it aint a bad idea, it was cheap and if hes happy with it, it was a good idea. maybe its a bad idea for someone who races their bike or someting that handling is very important, if you just dont want it to tip as easy and don t wanna spend hundreds and hundreds its fine.

mak400ex,

I have looked at the diamondj kit, and still have questions.
I have read only one negative owner comment (the other nay-sayers have NEVER used the kit) the rest were all positive.
With the stock shocks I know that he kit will lower your front, as your photos indicate.
Have you had any bottoming out? I have read about that happening occasionally with this kit.
But with your new shocks, you front should be back closer to stock angles.
Are you going to use the diamondj adjustable shock mounts?
Also are you mainly ridng trails or what?
Thanks!

yeah, most people who bas diamondJ never used their kits. and yes when i have my stock shock on i would bottom out occasionally..but not to bad. and no i will not be using the DiamondJ shock adjustments. i just put new 400EX shocks on.

and yes i do pretty much all trail riding. but i am building a track.

Not yet..but im working on getting a K&N power-up kit. so eventually yes

and yes i love my rear spacers..and they are very simple to install. just take your wheels off and put them on! :D

cant believe my girl has lowering links on the bottoms of her shocks and I didnt even think of using some on my 300, now after I make a set of those it will sit level again.
