boring isnt what cost, its the labor that leads to boring, i took mine apart myself and had a local machine shop just resleeve the cylinder, this was in 2002 and it cost $45 just to put the sleeve in the cylinder, everything else I done.... so with stealership rates, theres no tellings what you may pay, but if you just want the actual cylinder bored, thats even cheaper, when I had my smallblock 350 bored it was $10 a cylinder. But this is a local machine shop thats been around for years so who knows what it may be where you live. Hopes this helps, good luck with the 426!

A 426 overbore is highly not recommended, it is the last possible bore on the stock cylinder and the cylinder walls become very thin, which causes excess heat which is bad enough, but it will cause the aluminum to break down surrounding the sleeve and your head studs have a better chance of pulling out. If dead set on a 426, get a new sleeve.

I would say 416... a bored 426 is pushing it... a 440 you can not bore to, you need a new sleeve.

Yes, I would get the piston first and drop the cylinder/piston off at the same time so they can machine the cylinder to match.
