get a good exhaust, air filter and then jet the carb and that'll help out alot but for suspension and corning...400ex a-arms on front and some 400ex length shocks and on the rear a 01 raptor shock and spacers will help cornering

hey thanks.. ive got three questions... what do you think would be a good exhaust for a 300ex?..should i get a slip on or full system? and are spacers alright to use? because ive heard people say they are too weak to ride with... and any answers would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

a header does more than the silencer so i would go w/ a curtis sparks or a hmf slip on and a white bros. header...and i think spacers would be strong enough to ride w/ ive seen 1 chip but that happened b/c he got rear ended by a 300ex goin wide open when he slammed on the brakes

i have been racing with spacers for 4 years now. on a stock axle with no problems at all. go with a pipe and suspension first before anything and a good air cleaner.

For performance i would go with a HMF or Sparks pipe, filter and rejet the carb.I ran the HMF pipe with White Brothers header on my old 300ex's,but i believe HMF now makes a complete system.

As for the suspension,if you're not looking to spend a fortune on it, i would go with what amx said. The 400ex front setup....a-arms,shocks and the 01 Raptor rear shock.I never ran the 400ex set up,but i did run the Raptor rear shock with a 400ex spring on it.....worked as well as a Works rear shock and much cheaper.

i have to disagree on 4-stroke you get more power out of a slip on because the stock muffler is so restrictive if you were going to do it right i would buy the whole system but a header on a 4-stroke is not like the pipe on 2-stoke in a 2-stoke it is the opposite you get more power out of a pipe that out of a silencer

have you ever seen a stock 300ex header? it is quite restrictive compared to an aftermarket header.

Aye.. most aftermarket headers flow about 3x as much air as the stocker.
