Is there a special trick that I (as a loyal Honda owner) don't know about to pull the carb off of the bike. I tango-ed with my buddy's YFZ for about 2 hrs taking his carb off to clean!

I take my exhaust off and bring the carb threw the right side.

i just unclamp it from the motor and air box and take the throttle linkage off and twist the carb a little and it comes right out the left side

This is how I do it I Just take off the tube from the carb to the box disconnect the Throttle cable and twist the carb and it comes out the left side easily. Oh one other thing I take the bolt out of the rear brake fluid resevoir so I can move it it makes getting the throttle cable off a little easier IMO
