cant find where the snorkel is suppose togo?

i bought a 400ex and the snorkel cam with it but it wasnt on and i cant find out where it goes? i looked everywhere! if someone can show me pics or something! also what is it for anyway?

Where the intake tube from the carb enters the air box, its right next to that.

it's best to just plug it with a spray can cap

then there is less stuff to get in the way

it goes underneath the gas tank between the heat shield and goes all the way down on the right side of the bike to the airbox.

like said above, you can cap it off with a spray paint can.

Look at the picture below. The snorkel plugs into the front of the air box. I have a NAC'S Racing plug ($9.00) in mine. It's all a matter of preference. I like a more professional look but, like others have mentioned, a spray paint cap can work.
If you intend to leave your air box lid off, than leave it plugged. The snorkel will only help you with air box closed up.

i don't use the stock air box i just know you can do it

Here's a schematic of the air cleaner set up on a 400EX. This might help you with the install and to identify any missing parts. You can order parts from many online parts stores like www.bikebandit.com www.servicehonda.com www.planethondaracing.com to name a few.

Only if you always run it without the lid...
