250r engine in 250x frame??

someone gave me a '91 250x frame... im wondering if my '83 250r engine will fit in it?? anyone heard of this swap?

you'd have to make up motor mounts...and what side is the chain on on a 83 R motor?
you might be better off trying to find a 350x motor to put in it.

I beleive that the chain is on the left. I would rather put a 350x engine in, but seeing as how I live in Alaska and have a couple 250r engines handy, Im going to try and get one of those to fit

The 83 chain is on the right side,you'll have to use the rear swinger setup as well or go with a cannondale rear set up.If you can fab it can be made to work.The 83 and 84 motors were stronger than the earlier 250r motors by about 8hp.

thry have the drive chain on the same side as the 83 250r motor.If you cant find a 25-r rear then im sure a cannondale can be made to work with some fab
