probably between 55 and 60mph....don't let people lie to u and say it will go faster.....the 450r only goes about 63 mph in stock form according to atv rider magazine in the july 2007 issue....the suzuki z400 goes about 60.....and the 400ex is a little slower...doesn't really matter...i mean how often do u ride at top speed?......i dont think i've even had my ex at top speed

ur totaly wrong man. stock 400ex is around 68 stock 450r around 74. ur going to get many people saying stock 400ex between 65-70 mph. come on guys with the trail techs post pics of your top speed like you did before in that old thread from a few months ago.

My 04 with stock gearing was clocked at 68 mph on pavement.

my wheeler all stock with just a pipe was clocked at 72 stock before any othe rmods on pavement.

65 to 70 mph. The riders weight has a great deal to do with it. I've had mine up to 68.7 mph and I weigh 235 pounds. If I put a 150 pound rider on it, I imagine it might get going another 5 mph.

I hit 69 (not kidding) at Trevoton on friday I'm Modded about the same as Hornet but, only weigh 180.

i was clocked by a radar gun at 72 on my 00 400ex, 16t front, stock rear sprocket. on pavement, by a cop, chase ensued, i lost my quad for a couple days and had to get it from the impund. also receivced a speeding ticket for doing 72 in a 35. didnt realize that if its registered, its able to get a ticket.:ermm:

According to my buddies GPS his 05 hit 71.7 on a dirt road in Wellsville OH. It's scary how accurate that GPS is, so I have no doubt that's the speed he was pulling.
