what stage would you guys reccomed for trail riding. 1 or 2 also i plan on putting in a high comp piston and maybe a 416 kit sometime this summer. is it worth even getting it without the high comp piston?

I have the mods listed below and I love my stage 2. I decided on the stage 2 because I plan on going big bore soon. It gives me alot more power in the top end. It'll be more evident with a big bore though.

If you mainly ride trails dont get a cam at all, hotcams only helps your mid to high range power. Its not worth the money if you ride trails at lower speeds.

Bull****. I dropped a Stage 1 in mine, and it's amazing how much better it works in the tight stuff.

ya i gotta stage 1 in mine as well and it runs just fine.

Stage 1 is for low to mid range which is good for trails and woods riding.

Stage 2 is for mid to high range which is good for the track.

Stage 3 is good for big bores.

im going to go with the stage 1. do i have to adj my jetting after i instal it? can someone also tell me the break in thanxs

Jetting I can't answer, I installed mine at the same time I did a full system, but I can say that the instructions (also includes the entire break-in procedure) didn't say anything about it.

I agree.. for the tight woods stage 1 is awesome.. great bottom end..right where you need it.

also be sure that you stick to the valve clearance that the cam card says to run for the stage 1 cam.

i've heard many people say on here to set the clearance to what the stock cam sets to to get rid of the slight ticking. THAT IS TOTALLY FALSE.

i talked to customer service at Hotcams and they said the slight ticking is normal and not to set them at anything but what the cam card specifies. they also said it could possibly damage something in the valve train with an incorrect clearance other than the specified clearances.
