View Full Version : Constant flow of gas out the overflow

My 400 tends to bog down when I lay on the throttle from an idle but when I feather the throttle and get it going it runs like a raped ape.

Also when I come to a stop there's a constant flow of gas coming out of the overflow tube/hose and it will continue flowing until I shut the gas off.

The entire carberator was just gone through and rebuilt on Friday by my dealer so the floats shouldn't be gummed up and sticking but I'm not sure what else would be causing this.

Any thoughts?

the floats are stuck. Sometimes you can free them up by tapping on the float bowl.

Like said above its the float, my friends pocket bike did the same thing last week we just pulled it off and cleaned it out now it works great.

My guess would be some sort of dirt holding the float open. Could be coming from your gas tank.

A better answer would be "the floats COULD be stuck", because there could be other answers.
