So my mom has this 98' dodge grand caravan. It's a minivan and i want it to haul my quads. I know the local shop can weld on a hitch, but i want to know how much i can tow with it. I might just buy a really small trailer that can fir 1 dirt bike and 1 quad. I found a website that said it could haul between 1000 and 2000lbs. I don't know if this is true or not but could you guys but some info on this? Sorry that i didn't give a lot of info it's 12:08am and i'm pretty tired ;)

it proboly could handle it, your back ends gonna have some tilt, and maybe not too much power but it can do it...

Being that the van is front wheel drive it presents a problem, too much weight in the rear and you can't drive the thing.

The key to towing with it is to not have too much tongue weight on the hitch. You can put helper springs on the van and also use a weight distributing hitch to solve this.

Check with a place that specializes in trailer hitches. Also, Summit Racing carries a bolt on hitch to fit most mini vans.

If the lenght of the tongue is longer it will help with weight distribution. My friend took out all the back seats and fit his 400EX in the back.
