My 02' 440ex is starting to make a knocking sound. It started after we went bigger from a 416.
The wierd thing is, that it only does it at certain RPM's.
Its deffinately something in the bottom end, my valves are quiet as a mouse.
I have it idled down some now and it doesnt make the noise, like I said, it only does it at certain RPM's.
It has the following....
Stage 4 Webcam
Hardfaced rockers
"Scary Fast" big bore kit
Stock Rod
Stock Crank
Stock revbox
It gets rode pretty hard and Im explecting it to sling apart any minute now.
If anyone else has ever had this same problem and fixed it, id be glad for any input.
And my other question is, will a new 400ex bottom end (2005-2007) bolt onto my cylinder?...if it will, then when thisone slings its guts out, ill have a 400 with reverse :0
