hey ppl i'm a newbie to the 250r and i have some questions if anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated.
1. what is the recommended fuel ratio for the r? it was told to me to run a 20:1 ratio but i beleive its wrong cause its fouling the plug like crazy.
2. would running the wrong ratio cause it to run rough?
3.which of premix oil would you use cause i'm running klotz synthetic oil with 93 octane gas.

i mainly drag race this r and the times are a little slow for the r just wondering if this maybe some of the problem?

I run 32:1 ... Klotz is a good oil.

Have you checked the compression on your engine?

i run amsoil dominator at 50:1 . i would run at least 32:1 or higher.the oils today are much better than the ones in the old days. the tank says 20:1 :D

I run Klotz R50 at 40:1. Most people run 32-40:1.

clutch22,

the compression is pretty high on it cause i just had the motor totally rebuilt from the bottom up. new hot rod crank, stock length hot rod's rod ,fresh boring with a new wiseco pro lite racing piston, and i added a 38mm kehin air stryker carb. when i try to start it, it take bout all the energy i got to kick it over (which has done crack my shin bone from foot slipping off the kicker.)plus i'm running a NGK dr9 plug should i go with a little bit hotter plug.

Thats the plug I use, but i was asken how much compression you had so that you know what octane of fuel to use. about 180-185psi and up, you should run race fuel. my R sits at 188-192psi, so i've been runnin AvGas.

clutch22,
i run a compression check on my motor and it has a average of around 196 psi so i'm going to get me some a/v fuel and mix it 32:1 with the klotz oil that i have been running and see if it picks it up any.

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE ADVISE, IT WAS ALL TAKEN IN AND TRYING ALL. THANKS AGAIN
