Hey group,
I'm a Honda rider, but my neighbor just got an 06 Z400. Neither of us know anything about Z's, so I need help with a few basics. It looks like the Yosh bomb is only available for the LTR...is that correct?? Are there any instant mods for the Z that are no-brainers like that?
Thanks in advance!!

Remove the airbox lid. Install a hi flow air filter like K&N. Rejet. That will wake it up some. Put on an exhaust. Get a 13t front sprocket.

we tried to take the lid off a friends z and it wouldnt even idle, idk if thats normal but it seemed like it needed to be jetted just from that.

It wouldn't idle because once you took the lid off it was running extremely lean. Absolutely need to re-jet when removing the lid.

ahhh thats what i figured thats why i told him that if hes gonna re jet for the lid might as well get a pipe and do it all at once instead of getting into it twice...

if your getting a better filter dont get the stock replacement. look for the billet aluminum mount thing filter kit made by pro design or alba makes one. the filter holds on better to the aluminum than the wimpy stock. i have the alba plastic one but the plastic is really hard and works well.

A power now form scary fast racing would help with throttle response. It certainly helped my KFX.

get a motoworks sr-4 slip on exhaust for the price $270 you cannot beat it it gives you a 6 horsepower gain and power throughout every gear. but with this you will need to rejet. adding lots of power over stock and a 13 tooth front sprocket. acceleration and lots of power for under $400 its worth it. but i would also suggest if looking for tires get itp mudlites on the front and razr nobbys on back.

also get the dash thing on the bars taken off and put into the front plastic. makes a difference even though it may not seem llike it. and get new bars. id reccomend pro tapers.
