I'm buying 16in. elka's for my quad soon and a +2 axle.I was wondering should I get +3 herrmann or +2 houser a-arms.I've only ridden a quad with std. a-arms. So if anyone can give me advice on which length to buy.Is there really much difference?Also I ride 95% on mx tracks.

Dude, i got +3 on mine and its a lot better than +2. I ride only track and its awesome. I recommend +3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you plan on racing, most circuits allow a maximum width of 50". I have +2 a-arms and a +4 axle and I am 49.5" wide front and rear. If I had gone with a +3 I would be too wide, plus you have to get an even longer axle to match it in the rear. Longer axle=weaker.

Are you running the offset wheels Rizza..or? That is another thing that has to be taken into consideration.

on a 400ex,,,+2 will work great,,+3 will have crazy bump steer without a steering dampner,,and +3 will only be good on the MX track or dunes..

i have no problem controling my quad with +3 and no damper

A 250R also has a more narrow frame than a 400ex too,,you'll get more width out of a 400ex with +3 than a 250r with +3 arms..

Well, I am contiplating the long travel Housers with the L/T Elka shocks. Sharpshooter is thinking about the 16" with the L/T a-arms. Like he said, we mostly ride tracks. But my question is, will there be a significant handling change from +2 to +3? If not I too will go with the 16" and +2 a-arms.

with stock wheels on a 400ex +2a-arms equals what width from outside of one wheel to the other

my stock =42 inches

If you get +2's, your quad will be 4 inches wider with regular offset wheels. I'm not real sure on the specific measure. I think its 48"
