I'm picking up a UNI filter for the 450 tomorrow because the stock is showing some wear.

I already had the mesh off of the stock cage with stock filter and I was wondering If I just cut all of the cage off and used only the re-enforcing ring at the front if I would have any problems... like the air filter getting sucked in or anything.

Also, do the UNI filters have that hole at the back for the stock cage?

the UNI should come with a less restrictive cage, so just use that, and it does not have a hole in the back like the stocker

Use the UNI cage. If you cut the stock mesh out you need to epoxy the area where the mesh was to make sure you don't suck any in your motor. UNI will work perfect.
