well my dad had cracked up one of his heal guards real bad and we had my spare set of yfz heal guards not in use. i got his permission and proceeded to mount them. amazingly, they were almost a perfect fit! i only had to bend the outer most tab inward a little and perfecto! you do have to drill one hole for mounting thats by the frame but its no biggie. they are just as sturdy as stock but they look a ton better! thought some of you z400 guys might be interested so heres a few pics!

Hey that looks pretty clean. Good job! You should post it up in the body section.

Thanks for the info. That's definitely good to know in case I bust a stock one. ;)

so it mounts in all the same places? by the foot peg, on the end of the foot peg and to the sub frame?

do you think it would be easy to put aftermarket yfz450 heel guards on my kfx? i can do the drilling and bending and stuff. thanks

well i was able to bend the plastic heelguard here and there to make it fit just right. all the mounts fit great EXCEPT the outermost tab by the tire. i had to bend that tab in in order for it to fit correctly. aluminum ones might be a little more difficult to fit just because there is no flex to it. im sure it could be done no problem but you would have to drill out some holes and mabye drill a new hole here or there. mabye buy a plastic one on ebay first and check fitment before you spend 150 bucks on some nice metal ones!
