hey guys and gals, i'm looking to get a chain and sprocket set. there is so many different brands, and oring this and x ring that. i live in pa, i do a lot of driving in 2nd and 3rd gear with the occasional rev out in 5th gear. i'd like more acceleration so i will go down a tooth in the front to 13. anyone have any ideas on what else to do? what brand to get, tooth up in back, oring, xring, where to get them. we do a lot of mud driving here so if anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. its an 03 z400 by the way.

renthals are good so are sunstar i would say go i tooth lower in the front and you might want to get an o ring chain they seal the chain better but i don't know about the x ring i have never used one

i hope this helps

Just make sure that you don't waste your hard earned $$$$ on Sidewinder products. Biggest overpriced POS on the market.

motosport.com is a very good place to get sproket and chain sets. unlike rockymountain they allow you to chose the number of teeth you want on your sprokets. rockymountain only has stock numbers of teeth. plus its really hard to beat the deals on motosport. very good prices.

I just recently picked up a new Renthal 520 R3-2 gold o-ring style, and it seems to be a very nice chain. Easy install (it was harder cutting the old one off). Can't go wrong with Renthal. I got mine from Rocky, but I do have stock teeth. Everyone highly recommended to me to replace both sprockets when I replaced the chain as well. I believe old sprockets will where out your chain fast.
Good luck!
