I am sure this is probably a big no no. But is it possible to use E85 in the 525 or any quad for that matter. I was just thinking about that since it has such a high octane rating. I know that it is pretty corossive so it might not work but I am just curious if anybody has heard anything about that.

It will work if it is the E-10 version but it has poorer fuel mileage than gas so you will need a larger gas tank

Oh you can run E85 in your quad, but it'd be stupid.

I run 93 in my 250r but its a 2 stroke and needs higher octane, I prolly wouldn't run but 93 in anything for quads.

Wut you go threw a tank a month, so your spending wut like $.80 extra a month, sounds like not even a buck for cheap @ss insurance.

E85....does have les energy however makes peak power at a different A/F ratio...so you will hurt your gas mileage tremendously to actually see an actual power gain (just like methanol or alky as its referred too) Ethanol is not nearly as corrosive as methanol. ethanol comes from corn primarily and people dont realize this but it actually takes about a 1000gallons of water to grow enough fricking corn to make a gallon of pure ethanol...tree huggers can blow me thinking ethanol is going to save the world...lets trap that water and pump it to places like georgia that are in major drought right now so we can have our precious ethanol or bio diesels...its a Joke...liberal communists never see the negative sides to these issues. Now on the plus side they are learning to make ethanol from prairie grass which doesnt need to be watered like the corn stalks so that is a great solution.

anyways...more power can be achieved from ethanol but only at a MAJOR reduction in fuel economy. ethanol does burn cooler than gasoline so you can lean it out further but being leaned out is still what is resulting in worse gas mileage and less power than gas...with everything there is a trade off.

stick to the gas IMO unless your building a drag bike and looking for every last horsepower...and even then youll need to dyno tune with a sniffer to get max power...i believe max power comes at an air ratio of closer to 7-1 unlike 13-1ish like on a gas engine. methanol is closer to 6-1 if memory serves me correctly to actually see a gain in power.

We do E85 conversions here and have seen around 10% gains in HP. It does require a 20-30% change in jetting. We have also done the setup on a KFX450. The main reason we use it is for HP gains on drag bike with out the hassle of alky. If you are running an FCR carb we have a needle that works well with E85.

Yes you will use more fuel! For you drag guys call C & D they have a very nice Dyno spend some time on there it is well worth your money. When I said that it is very corrosive you will be fine with the newer motors and gaskets. I was mainly talking about cars and trucks pre 1990.

I agree I wouldn't use it in older motors.
