"It contains a proprietary blend of premium base oils and advanced additive technology for outstanding performance and corrosion protection. "

Anytime you see a statement that has to explain that it has a "blend of premium base oils" it's at best a synthetic blend but more than likely it's nothing more than a petro with a very aggressive additive package; if it's synthetic, they will simply say it is and won't have to use catchy phrases to make you want to buy it. Also, if it's synthetic they will be talking about the qualities of the synthetic, afterall you want to be relying on the base stock for protection and not the additive package that's added after the fact.

I have always used the VR1 and never had an issue. I put it in my autocross integra, and my 400EX. All my freinds use it in their motorcycles and quads and Acura powered sand-rails;)

ya just to let all you know, amsoil is the best....

my friend who works for honda r&d swears by amsoil.

he has done extensive testing against major oil manufacturers.

Like the 5000 rpm test(on automotive motors)- you keep it at 5000 rpms till the motor pretty much dies or it goes past the record.....

even against mobil one, he says amsoil is way better.....

well, I use maxima castor 927 for my motor and Penzoil STRAIGHT sae 30weight for my tranny. works great for me.

costs $4.95/qt. Don't know how it compares to the Honda oil in price but it's way better than the HP in protection. Honda of Tulsa carries both the 10w-40 for 4 strokes and the Series 2000 Racing oil for 2 strokes; $ 6.70/qt. (mixes at 50:1 in racing apps ).
