just got an lrd jug and head the head is shaved .020'' I have 89 rod and using 86 piston.The stuff came with a 6 mil spacer plate.Does anyone know if this sounds correct??

yeah, but it should be a 4.5mm spacer plate, not 6mm. You will most likely need to use race gas in it, though. With a stock trx gasket, you might be able to use 93/94 pump gas.

yeah i plan on running race gas any way if i dont use a stock gasket what should i use just the thin part of a stock gasket and will that hold?

(I dont know if you're new to these machines or not, but i figured i'd add this info about when to use race fuel.)
Make sure you check your compression when you get everything put together. 180psi and up is where most people start runnin race fuel.

If that cylinder had a 6mm spacer plate included & it was being use before you got the top end, more than likely its ported for a stroker engine build.
6mm spacer sounds right for a + 4 long rod stroker crank build.

i know my LRD jug was shaved on the top and bottom, and used a thicker spacer plate.......

This is exactly what im trying to figure out. Im using it on the 89 rod with the 85 piston so im not sure what spacer plate will keep every thing correct any help is appreciated so thanx everyone so far!

the difference in rod length is 5mm right? gasket thickness is 1/64" an inch??? times two gaskets (1/32" ~ 0.794 mm)


5 - 0.794 = 4.206 mm
