why do you want to change carbs? Lectrons are good if you know how to tune them.

First off a 40mm lectron is too small. I was running a 44 lectron on my 330cc motor. I would try a 44 mm lectron or a ESR 40.5mm like I have now on my 250cc with a 4mm stroke.

:huh

Is there something about Lectrons that make them act like a smaller carb? Why would you say 40mm is too small?

A very popular carb is the Keihin PWK Air Striker carb. They come in 36mm, 38mm, and 39mm, but I wouldn't suggest anything as small as 36mm on a 350. Many have suggested the 40.5 from ESR, which is just a 39mm PWK bored out to 40.5 for a little more airflow.

What type of riding do you do, and what is your riding style? For low and mid-range power, I'd suggest the 38, but if you like to run high revs, I'd go larger.

read what the guy above me said.

tell us about your riding style, how the cylinder is ported, and where you'd like to see power in the powerband.

well im not your typical 250r rider i dont ride on top of the rpms like im trying to twist it to death im a gear luger. ftz did a mx port job and big bore pipe and their ignition system. this motor is verry fast. im happy with the 40mm lectron i have been using lectrons for 14 years and i do now how to tune theim. Ok her it is the lectron has no chock and hard as hell to start and was wonting to try a diferent carb to see if their was a differents in the power. Thanks

I have a 40mm Lectron on mine, pretty much a stock motor. Maybe a .04. I got the carb with the bike. When I got it all setup for my exhaust I was having the same problem with the no choke thing. All I do is push in the throttle maybe 10 times. It will start within 2 kicks, and that was after letting it sit all winter. I had mine setup for 60-70 degree weather, but it will still fire up in the middle of Feb.
