Was searching the net seen some Burnt up Cdales. I never really payed attention but noticed there was quite a few of them. Went home told my dad. Sure enough the fuel lines where cracked. One of them was wet. Looked like it was just starting to leak. Boy was he relieved:cool:

Yeah this should be a top priority with any Cannondale owner who hasn't checked them over, these quads are getting somewhat old now... Even if you bought a new old Cannondale in the crate it would still need checked over along with several things that would need replaced before you could even ride it, fuel lines being one of them...
Please check them, not sure if you have seen the pictures or not, but its nasty, Cannondales burn well... Mmm, aluminum and magnesium...

Ouch! BTW magnesium reacts with water and pretty much explodes. So driving it into the nearest creak isn't always a good idea:scary:

Granted that the first photo was one that was burned most likely b/c the guy couldn't get it to fire and spayed starter fluid everywhere down the intake and around trying to get it to fire.

Yep, the plastics were off when it happened, he was a new owner and I'm sure it wouldn't start and tried spraying starter fluid down the intake...

I know one was owner error from starting fluid on a quad with a spun flywheel . Wasnt the second one from a fuel line routed on top of the exhaust pipe or leaking oil line . Ive seen some like that from icorrect owners installs. One thing to note is always triple check your injector caps for securement and cable tie them to the injectors for double security. The 03 models had the hoses that rotted the fastest but by now every dale should have had the fuel lines and quick connects upgraded with new stuff. These quads are getting old.
Maybe I will bring some more mag covers to burn at kevins group ride next week for the fireworks show. Last years was pretty good. :D

I still think the top one was on purpose. The kid collected insurance on it then sold some of the parts.
