Jodi and Jesi Stracham are always cheerfull and are promoting not only youth atv racing, but the female entry into what has long been a male dominated sport. With their elder mentors racing in the Womens class, they are all setting the sports course for the future of womens involvement and participation as our sport continues to skyrocket in growth!

These mini racers may seem like a novelty to some, but you wont find a single rider regardless of age taking the races less seriously then their older counterparts racing on the front line in the Pro class.

fans come in all shapes and sizes, and while at home they may fight like brothers and sisters, the admiration and pride everyone shows is nothing short of inspirational.

Even in the Youth level, the parental involvement is intense, and trying to juggle home, business and the sport can take it's toll. Pulling on each other , friends and family is almost mandatory these days for support.

The machines these young riders race on range from showroom stockers to full blown race quads with price ranges running from $1500 to well over $10,000!

If you get a chance to come watch these fine young riders compete, be sure to check out the parents and friends that lend support in so many ways! I am always amazed at the community bond that develops and the places one will put a sticker:p

As for my son, I was faced with a pretty hard decision. He was cleared by his doctor to compete but we all knew it may be to soon to turn him loose. Even he was unsure at how he would react to getting back in the groove after his wreck at Big Buck, but physically he was feeling decent. I left the decision up to him, and basically told him to use his head and use this round to work out the bugs in his new quad.

I knew he would face some challenges with an untested and unproven set up, so a few words of encouragement were added to keep him focused

The new machine drew alot of attention, and Cody told me before the start he should have rode througha puddle on his way to the line as he was a bit nervous of the attention:p

70 CVT is one class i love to keep an eye on. These little rascals BATTLE!!!!

#39 Brayden Shick and #44 Charlie Welch have been going at each other every round and this event would be no less intense! At round #5 Welch was racing with a fractured foot but was back in high gear to get himself another win if all went well.

Sadie Welch was absent from this race due to a broken arm (caused by a mean set of monkey bars:mad: ) We all wish her a speedy recovery and hope to see her back on the track where it's safe very soon!

Cody Hill finally appeared and he was covered in mud. A few parents had asked why he was so muddy on the 2nd lap and I had no answer for them until after the race.

I asked cody about his first two laps....

" I was doing good at the start and when we hit the woods I was holding my own, until we hit the tight stuff. I couldnt get the quad to turn and must have looked like a pinball bouncing off trees. Then on lap 2, aI came up on a bottleneck of the 70 class i think and me and another rider tangled as I tried to take a line around them. Once tangled, I tried to get my quad unstuck and fell straight on my butt in the mud."

As for Cody, well, he left disappointed but looking forward to the next round. We have already made some adjustments and the steering issue is resolved. There should be a few locals between now and the next GNCC and some needed seat time to adjust to the 4 stroke is required...along with 2 missing headpipe bolts and a left fender:p

I hope everyone enjoyed the Youth coverage and look forward to seeing everyone in Kentucky. I may have to send Cody around to get some details after the race from the Youth riders as I am bouncing all over by that time getting photos for the Am race.

take care and see ya'll soon!

Thank you for the update, I dont always use the photos to rider unless I denote it, and I think I used the wrong picture but I did add her win to that post though! After 3 days of looking at thousands of pictures they all start blurring together:p
