I've heard all this talk of the ktm but never a release date.... Are there spy photos leaked of it? any other information?

Should be very soon. I say this cuz I was at the local KTM/Zuki/Harly Davidson dealership and the KTM rep was there talking about a KTM450 quad. I didn't try to get any dirt on the it but the way it sounds it'll be here in within a month.

The 525 ktm XC quad will be out soon. The 450 Ktm mx quad will be out at the end of next year.

yay. seems like they'd unleash the mx quad then the xc, or at least at the same time. but who cares. question though, if there isnt a ktm dealership around my area, who will sell them? polaris dealers? or will a local dealership pick up ktm quads?

it kinda makes sense to release the 525 first during te middle of the summer because thats when recrational riders buy quads. they will sell more 450's at the end of the season / winter because people need time to get them ready for the track, and it give the aftermarket time to catch up

Got some dirt on the KTMs. I talked to the salesman at the dealer that talked to the KTM rep. The rep told him that KTM will never run an aluminum frame on their bikes or on their new up and coming quads. The XC version will have a 530cc engine derived from the 510 (I think 510). It will not be EFI (so I am guessing it'll have an FCR carb). Chassis will be made out of chromoly just like the bikes are and have an aluminum SUBframe. It will run Ohlins suspension with a narrow XC stance. The reason that KTM is not currently running there own WP shocks is becuz they couldn't get the spring and valve rates correct at the time. Oh and get this (the salesman was even shocked by this) the dry weight is claimed to be around 305-310lbs! I personally like the fact of running chromoly rather than aluminum. Oh and the XC version will come out as an '08 and the MX450 will be released a year later......

Unless Tim Farr Isnt competing for the EDT Pro Series Championship this year It should be out very soon, the first race is in two weeks I beleive, or KTM allows him to run another name brand quad until they release thiers.

the chromoly frame sounds awesome. much better than the aluminum frames in my opinion.

and 305-310lb dry weight is unheard of in a 4stroke. i just hope its true! lol

I'm almost thinking that a properly engineered chromoly frame is more practical for an atv than an aluminum one. And i hope to god its 305-310 lbs. would be good.

No way is a chromoly framed 4-stroke quad going to be that light... look at any 450 on the showroom floor... what else would you do to drop that much weight? I'll believe it when I see it. If KTM never came out with a quad, it wouldn't surprise me.
