I have heard that you now need a permit to ride the coal hills. I also heard if you get caught without they take your atv and tow vehicle. Is this true? Where do you get the permit?

This is an old post but it should contain all the information about where to obtain an access permit. Just to let you know, I had checked in April on how many permits were left and they said they only had 35 more. By now they may have all been sold so please check before going there.
