just took my '00 400ex apart to paint frame, i put it back together and now it seems to be getting really hot really fast, i run 93 octane in it, many aftermarket parts but nothing new from before disassembly beside a new carrier and g-force axle, any ideas on what may be doing this?

For starters, pull the oil check bolt near the oil tank sending/return lines below the oil filter. Oil should be up to the level of the hole, I think. What aftermarket engine parts are you running? Exhaust leaks?

make sure you have nice fresh oil in there and a new filter mine was running hot until it blew up the piston and valves had all burned old dirty oil
