I am going to buy an XR400 clutch cover. They have a removeable cover stock. I will plug up the kick started hole and use a hinson cover. Looks like thats all hinson did cause the kick started hole is plugged.

Seriously I think you would find it a major fabrication to fit on your R.

i can't seem to get service honda to load up, so i just checked with ronnies. The XR400 case cover is 125 and the clutch cover is 85 bucks. assuming the xr cover will work, its a much cheaper way to accomplish the same objective. Nac's sells the hinson cover for the 400ex for $410.

Nacs dosn't sell them for $410 anymore, that is the old price. Hinson upped the retail price to $495 and that is what everyone sells them for, including Nacs. I do believe you can buy the xr400 side case cover for $120, and the the hinson repacement cover for like $120, so a brand new one will cost you under $250! That's a lot better than almost $500 from everyone else.

Don't forget you'd have to plug the kick starter hole :p

what would it take to plug the hole on the xr cover? or if money was no object, would it be worth it to but the kick starter in there?
