i would think youd be running about mid to low upper 30's. whats the compression ratio of the piston?

Just to break 40HP requires FCR, port and polish, high compression, etc etc.

Thanks everyone for the replys .like I said before i got the bike used the fellow show me all the recipts off the work done if i can remember i think its either 11 or 12 on the compression or something to that nature , I cant really be sure because I am 155 miles in the gulf of mexico @ work .:( .I plan on getting the port and polish and adding Stage 3 cams also. is thier anything else i would need to make the engine more bullet proof , i keep reading something about the head studs stripping out .any advice you guys can give me and possible maybe a few links to venders .i have been using ebay to get most of my parts like tires and rims , brakes stuff like that .i will post some before and after pics when i am done with it.
Thanks everyone

i agree, i would say a 440 is around 35-37, no more no less, that is with a 11:1 piston also. its hard to tell you really. if your not really sure what is done then we arent either, but from what u have told us i would say around that hp rating

it also depends on who built it, if it was a backyard job its really hard to tell what kind of power its putting out, if u really want to know get on a dyno.

i would like to know a true ballpark but i have no access to a dyno!! This is a Tudors Performance 440EX Big Bore kit that was tested out by Off-Road.com.

http://www.off-road.com/atv/projects/400ex/tudors/part2.html

Tudor's Performance designed the TRX440 Midrange Power Big Bore Kit to be reliable and is priced at only $1050.00.

Kit includes the Big Bore Sleeve (installed), JE Forged Tudor's Performance 11.0:1 Piston kit, Midrange Head Porting and Valve Job, Drop-In Midrange Camshaft, Hi-Rev + 1000 RPM Ignition Box and our No-Blow Cylinder & Head Gasket.

Here is a dyno of that same kit...

its kinda blurry but it looks like 36 or 38 peak thats not bad for a reliable 400ex i'm impressed.....

Here's a 12.5:1 440 built by GT Thunder compared to stock.

Here's another test from GT Thunder. No details given other than it's a 440:

The stock run on the first graph provides a good "baseline" for judging how high or low their dyno reads. Seems like no two dynamometers read exactly the same....
