I have $300 to spend and I was wondering what you guys suggest for pump gas friendly performance upgrades.
I have the 05 trx 450r with a few mods: HRC kit, velocity air filter.
Is a slip on worth the money, if so which slip on?
Higher comp piston: Wiseco 11.5:1 or JE 12.0:1.
Thanks

a slip on is definatly worth the money. if i was getting one i would get the HMf. there great pipes and not that expensive either. for the piston i would go with the 12-1 but thats gonna run you about 200 dollars.

What is the stock compression?

The compression is 10.5:1, the 06-07 its 12:1

You should be fine with 12:1 compression running on pump. HMF is a good choice also.

What about an Lrd Pro 4 Series slip-on? I can get one new for $239 at my local Honda dealer, it usually sells for $309.

Yea but you would have to send it back to HMF when you buy the head pipe to make the silencer fit on the HMF header.

IMO, I think you should find someone selling a used FULL pipe, Should be able to find a good one for $300.

don't think that it is true that you have to send your pipe back to HMF to make it fit.....i would call them and make sure but i know that it dosen't matter with a yfz slip when you add the hmf header..

I would also look around the parts section for a used pipe

Ive not had personal experience but if you buy a slip-on now and want a header later i dont think you would have to send it back BUT if you are worried about if you do they say an FMF header will match up to any slip-on cause it is the same length and design as a stock header where they mate........like i said dont quote me on that but ive heard that from more than one person

i wouldnt waste money on a slip on, if you want to buy a slip on make sure you can get a header later some dont offer that. even with a slip on get a jet kit and a filter, a good investment would be a rev box and a je piston kit

My hmf pipe was a slip on but it was sent back to hmf to make it work with a header. I am pretty sure about it this becuase its what the guy I bought my pipe off of did.
