i know that the raptor is probaly the fastest quad that you can get but how to make the honda 450 gain more top end speed to out run a raptor

after that you need to power to pull taller gears. I'd stroke your 450r if you want more torque to turn a taller gearing.

so my best bet on out running the raptor is to put a full exhust nos and a jet kit....

A cam and a full exhaust would give you the biggest gains without going crazy on money.

Are you talking about a 700 raptor or a 660? I know that i have raced both and i can out run them on top end. The 700 is faster than the 660 but those craptors dont stand a chance. :p
I run stock gearing and 18 inch tires and i still beat them on top.
If you keep 20 in tires and so some mods you should be good to go. I have Nmotion exhaust, hotcam stage 2, JE 13:1 piston, 40mm fcr carb, and airbox eliminator.
Just thought i would let ya know so you know what it takes.

are street tires good or bad for racing

stock gearing and 18" tires ? what is your top speed ?
unless your turning like 12000rpm all those mods are just getting you to your top end fast.

my buddy has a 700 rappy (after his 660 was stolen)
both of these seem to have great top end speed.
I out run him in a drag but im not sure I could get around him top end on a road, and I have the 06w/harness mod for +1000rpm.

That might be true... i also forgot that i do have an alba racing rev box which uped the rpms 1,000 too. but if they are faster on top end they dont catch me fast enough for me to notice they are faster on top end. so, its pretty even on top.

taller tires, smaller back sprocket, larger front sprocket will all add to the top end speed (to me, thats not where its at)

give me the "G-force" of a hole shot where the quad tries to climb out from under you, pulling you back a couple inches on the seat.

I dont care if it only pulls like that up to 70 mph, I prefer that over the long haul getting up to 90 mph.

but to answer your question, yes you can get the 450r to pull the raptor top speed with just a 20 dollar sprocket.
