Chain and sprocket question?

The 300ex comes stock with a 13/38, 86 pin chain. I am about to order a new chain and sprockets and I want to go to 14/38. Do I need to go with an 88 pin chain or will the 86 work?

yeah, it works fine. In fact theres enough adjustment to swap sprokets (i do it for mountain riding) if you want to. you will have to take the case saver to a bench grinder to make it fit without rubbing, though.
