does race gas actually help an engine produce more power that does not require it? i know high compression engines require it. i have heard many diffferent things. i know that it burns cleaner, but other than that what are some advantages? i was just curious if its going to produce more power in my stock motored yfz?

no real benefits if you do not need it. A lighter wallet. A lot of topics on this. Search and check them out. Don't run it if you don't need it (i.e. detonation problems)

i run it and i had to get my valves adjusted.

Personal expierence with 11:1 compression ratio it is not required at all. It made my quad lose performance. It was a very noticeable performance loss. I think above 11:1 depending on all kinds of different engines you should run a mix of some race gas or the higher compressions should run straight race gas.

my buddy runs 87 pump in his 06 trx450r with 12:1 compression with no detonation all the time. I think 12:1 compression should have a lil race gas mixed in with some pump.
