what about a 400ex frame in a stock 400ex frame. i was told it will bolt right up except for headmount has to be shaved some to clear gas tank?

my bad 400ex motor into a stock 86 250r frame.

it wouldn't be all that fast. you would be better off getting a yz426, yz450, crf450, or a ktm525sx or 450sx motor to put in the 250r frame.

the motor were puttin in it isnt a stock 400. its a 416 but were gonna bore it more and go big broe stroker. a 426 is to expensive, were on a budget build.

if you're really interested in building that hybrid I have one exactly like you're saying...it's a trx250r frame and I put a 400ex motor in it...when I got it there was already a 350x conversion done to the frame so I can't say exactly what will need to be done to a stock 250r frame but mine only took a little bit of fab work to fit it...and if you're really interested I would consider selling for the right price.
