View Full Version : Wiggly head lights on 400ex. How to fix?

Well my lights are wiggly. There is 2 screws under neath them, like under neath were the oil rad is. I tryed to tighten them but they wont? How do i tighten them? im just makeing sure everything is good because it gose in the autotrader tommrow.


Also what can I put In my grips so they wont turn? I do no think we have glue.

The tab on the top of the headlight housing inside the front plastic is probably broken causing it to wiggle.

Hairspray only works for grips if it is the old school hair spray, most of the newer stuff doesn't work.

headlights, im going to nig rig something so they are not wiggly. lol

Go to the auto part store. Pick up some 20 minute 2-part epoxy glue.

Even if someone needs to get into replace the headlights, it is a simple process with a dremel to cut the glue. Then they will need to re-glue with epoxy glue.

This is a super common problem on any 400ex especially those that hit the mx track with lights.

instead of hairspray on the grips use spray paint. when the spray paint dries, its like glueing the grips on. if your worried about asthetics make sure you only get the spray paint inside the grips.

as for the headlights, mine are held in with sheetrock screws and zip ties. they dont wiggle, they dont point the right way either
