Whats the going price on a cheaper brand aftermarket frame?

Whats the best a arms and swing arm for a stock 89 frame? I'm trying to see which way i can afford to go.

You can pick up aftermarket Arens or anything that has some welds for $600+

Can't comment on best a-arms or swingarm because you'd have to try them all and it depends on what your doing.

Jd performance makes some good stuff for cheaper.

Is a welded frame bad? Would 1000 get any better frame?

A welded frame isn't bad, just means something cracked or broke and was fixed, depends on the welder I guess.

$1000 would get a pretty good frame. Kustomfab2003 has a Lonestar no -link for that price.

a few hundred, good condition stock frames are getting hard to get. Check it very closely for bends and cracks. A title on the frame is the rare part, most don't have them. I have one frame with a title out of 8 frames. I think my stock, gusseted and powercoated frame was $500. I paid $400 for a almost new condition atc250r frame w/title.

Would it be worth 875?

$875 is high for a stock frame - title or not.

I don't know what the big deal is with a title, they never came with them in the 80's so you just go and put one on.

I'd hold out for one that is 4130 chromoly, you'll likely only pay upto $1000 and for MX it'll last longer.

actaully they came with a mso, its just like a title. Many of times they got lost. I have a 86 atc250r frame with one.

86/87 frames are just as good as 88/89, they are slighty different, mainly the location of the foot pegs is the key factor. I have a 88, however I like the foot peg placement of 86/87 frame much better. The foot peg on the 88/89 250r is ~2" forward compared to a 86/87. Almost everything else is interchangable with all years.

I guess the 86 style would be better for a taller person? I'm 6/3
